The Methodist grave yard is on the east side of Main
Street, north of the Methodist Episcopal church. These are 31 stones,
bearing 34 inscriptions. The latter number is perhaps 75 percent of the total
number of burials that have been made in this plot.
From the inscriptions one learns that the grave yard was used 33 years, from
1847 to 1880. Three civil war soldiers who died
in the South are buried here. The grounds are very poorly kept. (Source: Old Northwest Genealogical Quarterly, VOL XIII)
