WELCOME TO PICKAWAY COUNTY OHGenWeb

My name is Anna Kasper and I am the Pickaway County Coordinator. Many thanks to the previous caretaker Stephanie Ebel and Chyrl Lawrence-Bulger caretaker from 2008-2011.

I am a professional genealogist and excited to be the caretaker of the Pickaway County website. I have a long family history with Pickaway County, Ohio. My great-grandmother (and both of her parents) were born in Pickaway County. My Prindle ancestors came to Pickaway County from New York in 1837. My Doman and Chamberlain ancestors were in Pickaway County before 1820.

This county was established in 1810 from Ross, Fairfield, Hocking, and Franklin Counties. The county seat of this county is the city of Circleville. Pickaway is a Native American word meaning "man risen from ashes."

We hope you find my efforts helpful in your research of your County roots. I am unable to do additional research on your family as I do not have direct access to records.
