4,435 deaths in service. Last Veteran: Daniel F. Bakeman, died 4/5/1869,
age 109.
War of 1812 - 1812 to 1815
287,000 men participated in the War of 1812. There were 6,765 deaths in
service. Last Veteran: Hiram Cronk, died 5/13/05, age 105.
Indian Wars & French and
Indian War (also known as the "Seven Years War")
106,000 men participated in the Indian Wars. There were 1,000 deaths in service.
Last Veteran: Fredrak Fraske, died 6/18/73, age 101.

USGenWeb Pensions
Project - Comptroller's records includes claims for
payment, reimbursement, or restitution submitted by citizens to the Republic
of Texas government from 1835 through 1846. It also includes records relating
to Republic pensions and claims against the Republic submitted as public debt
claims after 1846.
US-Mexican War (1846-1848)
115,493 men participated in the Mexican War. There were
1,177 deaths in service. 24 of the 28 States provided volunteer troops which
included Ohio. Last Veteran: Owen Thomas Edgar (1831-1929) at the age of 98
after suffering a fall from a chair that fractured his leg.
