HEADLEY, RAWLES, RUSH posted by James W. Rawles ,at Email: rawles@usa.net , on Thursday, June 8, 2000

RAWLES and RUSH I am seeking information on a John Rawles and a John Rush, who were entrymen in the Northwest Territort in 1801. John Rawles and John Rush first filed on land in Ross County in the Northwest Territory (this portion later became Ohio) on July 9, 1801. They listed their Residence at time of entry as Ross County (which later became Pickaway County.) They paid $2 an acre for all of Section 12 and most of Section 13, Township 3, Range 22, Worthington Survey. The land totaled 1,183 acres. Their initial payment was $591.80. This was 1/4 of the total due--the balance was $1775.40. This land was later to become part of Pickaway County when it was incorporated in 1810. John Rawles was married to Sarah Headley. They moved on to Tippecanoe County, Indiana, sometime before 1820. Many Thanks, his x mark James Wesley Rawles c/o 47000 Warm Springs Blvd. #257 Fremont, Calif. 94539 USA rawles@usa.net Currently researching: Barnard, Biffle, Bilderback, Birthistle, Creveling, Crow, Fischer, Gray, Grimsrud, Hampton, Henckel, Holloway, Hvesser, Irwine, Kiesewetter, Kinsella, McAbee, Parrot, Pitcher, Rawles, Shirk, Sproule, Wallach, & Weaver

James WATSON and Dorcus MORELAND were married in Pickaway Co., OH 3/1/1854. They had five children three of which I believe to have been born in Ohio. Obediah, George W. and S.E. that I believe was a female. The two other children were born in Illinois. I believe James Watson was born in OH of Abe Watson and Nancy HAWK. I believe Dorcus Moreland was born in OH of James Moreland and Nancy JONES. Obediah could have been born in Franklin Co. OH. The only true connection I know is the marriage.
