MOWRY, SPACHT, SPECHT posted by Lisa Hoffman ,at Email: Hoffman793@aol.com , on Friday, November 10, 2000

I was just looking at surnames on Pickaway County, found some Bible postings. I am trying to reach the person who posted info about John Mowry and Hanna Spacht. I tried to e mail directly and my message was returned. Thanks! I just saw your bible posting on the Pickaway Co. website. I am researching the Specht family, and I had John Mowry as being married to Hannah Specht, 28 April, 1838. I don't have any information on the Mowry family. Were they all from Pickaway County? The Spechts originally came from Pennsylvania, and I am trying to find out where in PA they came from, and find some correct dates for some Specht discrepencies that I have. I'd be happy to share what I have on the Spechts! Lisa

COON, NORTH posted by Raymond Coon ,at Email: jeramo@teleport.com , on Sunday, November 12, 2000

George Washington COON (abt 1786), believed to have been born in Pennsylvania and of German ancestry. He and his wife Mary (NORTH) Coon may have lived in Pickaway County until 1813 when they moved to Fairfield County. Sons William (b. 1809) and James were likely born in Pickaway County. George may have had brothers: Jacob and Samuel. Parents and other siblings unknown. I am hoping that they can be found in the 1810 census of Pickaway County. Is anyone aware of Coons in Pickaway County at about this time? Or, does anyone have access to that census? Thanks, Raymond Coon jeramo@teleport.com

I'm especially interested in Eliza(beth) FRYATT who married Jacob BURGET in 1820 at Pickaway Co.
