HEENAN posted by Carol Peters ,at Email: ohas@cox.net , on Sunday, March 3, 2002

Still need to find Anna HEENAN somewhere other than the 1880 census living with her son Thomas. She must have died before 1900 either in Pickaway or Union County. Family didn't move to Franklin County until later. I can't find a death record, cemetery record or headstone anywhere. Believe there was another son, John, but she isn't with him, either. Help!

EGICH, ENNIS, EVICH, EVICK, EWIG, FISHER, HALL posted by Sherlene Hall Bartholomew ,at Email: drshb@emstar2.net , on Friday, March 22, 2002

Seek parents and any other information about my ancestor Clarinda "Evick" Fisher, b. 5 Sep 1808 in VA, m. William Hall 22 Jun 1826 in Pickaway Co., OH. Family tradition is that she grew up calling herself an "Evick," but that she gave her name as "Clarinda Fisher" on her marriage record. She and Wm. kindly took in my great-grandfather Henry C. Hall as an infant, in addition to their already large family, when his parents, their son Henry C. Hall and his wife Elizabeth Staley died young. A "J. Enes" (Jeremiah Ennis?), age 78, (some have transcribed it "J. Evic"--but it looks like Enes to me, is enumerated as part of Clarinda's 1860 household in Jackson, Allen, Ohio. 'Have seen the Evick name transcribed "Egich" in some census records--also spelled Evich and Ewig. Any info. about Clarinda or her relatives greatly appreciated. shb

BOWERS, SHARP posted by Nan ,at Email: nanmcross@hotmail.com , on Friday, March 29, 2002

Frederick BOWERS/BOWER was born, according to published information on Bowers Mill, Missouri, in Germany and came to the US as a small child. They first came to Adams County Pennsylvania, then to Ohio. The Miami Valley Index shows him marrying Mary SHARP in 1817 in Pickaway County. He registered land in Darke County in 1821 (Range 1, Township 11, Section 13. He is on the 1825 Darke County Ohio Census and again in 1830. We loose track of him between 1830 and 1843 when he shows up in Missouri purchasing land in Bowers Mill, Lawrence County. He dies there in 1848, and where the grave used to be is now a field. His widow and children John J., William H., Elizabeth Caroline, George F. and Margaret are on the 1850 Lawrence County Census (Ozark Township, page 307.) One daughter, Evelyn, is not on the census, nor are 4 males and 5 females that were in his household in Darke County in 1830! Either they were children, relatives, boarders or something. I am looking for siblings of Frederick, as well as other kin. Nan
