Seeking any information on a Michael Earnest who served in the War of 1812 under the direction of Capt. George Wolf. He served between Jul 7 thru Aug 26, 1813. Hoping this may be our long lost Michael. Any info on birth place, parents etc, would be greatly appreciated. The Michael I am looking for would have been decended from Eva and Adam Ernst of Bedford Co. Pa. He was taken by the indians at the age of 2 in 1777, along with a mother and brother and held for a year before being traded to the British a year later. He was held by the British at Fort Detroit for 8 years before being released. It is believed he headed west out of Pa. a few years after his release. He just disappeared on us and we know there has to be some descendants out there. I do not believe he would have traveled to distant from family.
