I am searching for info on the marriage of William KEMP (born 1807,Maryland) and Hester GOODWIN (GODWIN) in Pickaway Co. I know that they were married about 1836. Hester GOODWIN was the daughter of Levi GOODWIN and born in Ross County, Ohio. William KEMP was born on 20 May, 1807 in Somerset County, Maryland, the son of John KEMP and Elizabeth BROWN. If anyone can give more imfo on the marriage of William and Hester, the birth of Hester, the deaths of Elizabeth BROWN or John KEMP, or the ancestory of William or Hester, please e-mail me as soon as possible.

Elizabeth ALKIRE b. 1824-26 in Madison Co, OH, Died 21 June 1869 , Married to Absalom N. WILSON on 7 Mar 1844 in Pickaway Co, OH. Children: John R., b.1844, George W.,b. 1847, Henry Clay,b. 1849 , Elizabeth A., b. 1855, Hannah J.,b.1859, Charles Absalom, b. 16 Feb 1864. Would like info on Elizabeth T.'s parents. Suspect (but don't know) they are Joseph ALKIRE (b. 1805 in Madison Co, OH) and Katherine TAYLOR. Joseph son of William ALKIRE (b. in KY?) and Temperance CLAY.(?) Also, any info on Absalom's family. Absalom WILSON b. Aug 1816 in VA. Father Robert WILSON b. 1780-1790 in VA.

Research Joseph W. BALL, Jr. b. 1834 in OH. He married Mary E. SHRUM (b.1843) Jan 25 1857 in Defiance Cty., OH. They eventually had 12 children; Albert, Jonathan, Joseph, Orlando, Albert, Agnes, William, George, Alonzo, May, an Infant, and Charles. Their first few children supposedly born in Paulding, OH. Information on BALL or SHRUM prior to 1860 will be helpful.

MCKINLEY, Alexander (b.ca.1764 VA) wife Mary WILSON CH: Jane, John, Alexander, Samuel and William (b.ca.1806VA). These McKinleys were in Fairfield and Pickaway Co.'s in OH from early 1800's, then to IN bef. 1850. Alxndr's parents were John and Mary (CONNELLY) McKinley. He also had a brother named John. My line is from William. John (Sr's) parents were said to have been David (the weaver) and Esther -- I haven't been able to document. Will exchange info with others. PH/FAX: 510-797-7991.

My GGG.Grand father was Samuel Hoy SMITH (b.24 Feb. 1776, State of NY) who was an early settler of Knox and Ross,Erie,Pickaway Counties Ohio.He entered Ohio from Ky. with Col. Nathaniel MASSIE about 1794 with brothers Anthony, Jerimhia, Robert, William and a sister Mary who married Cpt.Ichabod NYE (war of 1812). These people were said to be the children of Samuel Hoy Smith and Mary STARR (Nortons history of Knox Co. Oh.,1862) Samuel Hoy Smith is said to have come from around Goshen,NY and knew Dewitt CLINTON's family (thus the name of Clinton, Oh.) and the BURR's.Sam's family history from this point Fwd is fairly well documented, he was a surveyor and a Mason. Also laid out the town of Clinton and Mt Vernon in Knox Co.Oh. along with others before moving to Erie Co. about 1818 and to Texas about 1840. But where the family came from before this is a mystery that my Father, Grand mother and I have worked on for over 90 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Researching Joseph BALL b. abt 1834 in OH (parents Joseph BALL and Catherine HOLLENBACH) In 1857 in Defiance County, OH, he married Mary E. SHRUM who was born abt. 1843 in OH. Joseph and Mary had twelve children; Albert, Jonathan, Joseph, Orlando, Albert, Agnes, William, George, Alonzo, May(Mary),an infant, and Charles. IGI shows a Mary Shrum born abt 1842 in Pickaway County, OH. The History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties, OH mentions SHRUM family as early settlers.

Looking for information about John MARTIN and Letitia IRWIN / IRVIN MARTIN and their children. At least one son born in Pickaway County - Henry Curtis MARTIN, b. August 1823/24. Another child possibly Emeline/Eliza. Henry moved to Indiana about 1840's and to Iowa in 1850's. John MARTIN born in MD or VA. Letitia may have been widowed in Pickaway County and moved with son? Henry SPYKER b September 27, 1782 in PA m Elizabeth TODD b 1795 in VA or KY. Married August 20, 1810 in Pickaway County. Both died in Allen County. Searching for info on Elizabeth before she came to Ohio. Children: Mary, Julia Ann, Samuel , Luther, Henry, Eliza, Levi. Levi was a soldier in the Civil War, reportedly died in Libby Prison. .

Searching info on my grandfather: Charles Henry DRYER b.1872 in Genoa I believe. Believe his father was Charles (possibly Henry DRYER and his mother was Eva WOODS). My grandfather married Fentie Virginia SALISBURY 02 Jan 1895(location? probably PA).They divorced and he moved to Rome NY where he died in auto accident in 1937(39?).Family tree very blank on his side and I want to fill it out.
