I am working on Samuel RAMSEY (1790-1852) of Pickaway Co., Ohio. He married first Mary MURPHY, and second in 1830 in Ohio to Isabella JONES. (Need help on her). His father John RAMSEY had died in 1810 in Fairfield, now Perry Co., Ohio. His son James RAMSEY born 1832, married in 1857 in Pickaway Co., to Mary Jane BAGGS, and lived there till at least 1870.

Zorababel MCGATH B 6-22-1771 in Maryland, D 12-30-1857 Pickaway Co., Ohio; Wife Elizabeth "Betsey" LANDON. Married 1-18-1809 Somerset Co.. Maryland. He served in the 2nd Co. of the 2nd Reg, 5th Brigade, 2nd Div of the Ohio Militia during the war of 1812.Children: Elizabeth Ann, B. 1809 Maryland, M. Isaac FURNESS, Sarah, B. 1811 Maryland, M. John FURNESS; William, B. 1813, M. Nancy FURNESS 1843. Caroline Frances, B. 1818 in Ohio, M. Joseph GARDNER 1-3-1837; Henry J., B. 2-20-1823 in Pickaway Co. Ohio, d. 7-10-1909 in Sandusky, Erie Co. Ohio, M. Martha A. PAYNE 1-4-1848 in Pickaway, Ohio. Henry served Civil War with Co. A, 112 Reg. Illinois Vol. He also was a resident of the Soldiers & Sailors Home in Erie Co., Ohio. Buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Need info on any of members of this family and their where- abouts. Also need info on William and Samuel MCGATH, who also served in the war of 1812.

Looking for information on the names ARMSTRONG, WARNER, WISE and DIETRICH/DETRICH, families who lived in Ross, Highland, Pike, Pickaway and Fayette Cos., OH. Ara Jane ARMSTRONG was married to Samuel WARNER in Pike County on 15 Jan 1867. Samuel WARNER served in the Civil War. They had several sons, one of whom was Milton S. WARNER, my grandfather; also Charles, Hoadley and Floyd WARNER, and two or three daughters, including one named Angeline FELLER, which was her married name. Samuel WARNER's parents were William WARNER and Katherina WISE who are listed as being born in Germany. Ara ARMSTRONG'S father was Samuel ARMSTRONG who married Angeline DIETRICH/DETRICK in Pike County on 16 Sep 1838. Searching for ancestors of James WALKER & Margaret ROLLINS. James Walker b. July 1807, Ohio. Margaret Rollins b. 16 May 1807, Ohio. They were married 11 Oct. 1828, in Pickaway County Ohio. They had 8 children,all last name Walker, which were born in Ohio. 2 of which I am sure were born in Pickaway County. They were Elizabeth b. 1827, John T. born 1829 in Pickaway, Benjamin b. 1831, Moses b. 1833, Asahel b.11 June 1835 in Bloomfield ,Pickaway Co., James b. 1837, Nancy b. 1839, and Samuel b. 1841. The James Walker family moved to Logan Co. Illinois in 1841.

Seeking information on James S. WHITFORD and Rhody MITZGAR. I have a copy of igi marriage record which gives a marriage date of Dec.30,1818 Pickaway Co. Ohio. I believe these to be my GGGGGrand parents. I have traced back to James H. Whitford,born Pickaway Co.1822 but have no other information of his parents,siblings.There is a mortality record for a James S.Whitford in the 1850's that gave a birth place simply as PA. Searching for ancestors of John SWISHER (birth date unknown, died 1821) m. Catherine MARTIN (birthdate unknown, died 1824) in Pickaway Co OH 10/26/1815. Looking for birth place of Daniel SMITH, born about 1804 in Fairfield Cunty, also the parents of Mary cressinger or Christinger. Daniel Smith was in Peoria County IL in 1850. There was a Daniel Smith in the first Ohio legislature from Fairfield County. This Daniel Smit would be too yong, but what about his father?
