HOHENSTEIN posted by Charles R. Hohenstein ,at Email: chohenste@skyenet.net , on Sunday, February 15, 1998

Grateful for any information concerning HOHENSTEIN family which resided in or near Circleville, but especially the butcher Christoph HOHENSTEIN (see 1860 Census, spelling Hoenstine) and Lewis HOHENSTEIN (see 1920 Census). I believe that they are related to the HOHENSTEINs who settled in Pike County, Ohio, from whom I am descended. The latter HOHENSTEINs came to Ohio from Brackenheim, Wuerttemberg, and there was a Christoph HOHENSTEIN, butcher, who resided in Brackenheim, of the right age to be the same man.
