Robert B. Kinnear, great-grandson

The last thirty years of Bob's life he was an enthusiastic genealogist and family historian. To demonstrate his appreciation for historic records, he worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for nearly 12 years after retiring from his career as an engineer for both General Electric and Rockwell.
To share the early Pickaway County experience, in the 1970's, he transcribed the diaries of his great-grandfather, Stephen Kinnear, son of David Kinnear. The transcribed diaries are posted on this web site. Bob completed his own personal history in 1999 to share with family.
Stephen A. Kinnear
was the son of David Kinnear
who was one of the original Commissioners of Pickaway County,
was the first County Surveyor
of Pickaway County and was an Associate Judge and Justice
of the Peace of Pickaway County, Ohio.

Many, many thanks to Sherry and Robert for their submission to the Pickaway County site. Not only does this transcription provide genealogical clues, it gives us a unique insight into daily life in the late 1800s in Pickaway County.
