    At election today. Voted the whole Union Ticket. BROUGH majority over VALANDY has 113 votes, a 49 vote gain over last year. John FISSEL bought of me two hides, 38 and 39 lbs ..... 77 lbs at 6 cts ..... $4.62 on cr.

    John MOORE left for Deleware. I wrote to Nelson and sent him $20.00 by J. Moore. A. and L. HOWARD lost one day each. Paid G. NEFF $8.63 in full for lumber and paid him for Mr. SCOTT $2.37. Brought the two buck sheep from Neff's.

At my house at night sold Bussey and Snelling all the soft and balance of corn on Stevenson's place at 60¢ per shock. Bussey and Snelling here for all night.

    At Five Points and bought of Mr. GIFFORD 1 bbl of sorghum molasses, 43 gallons, and handed him same in cash $20.00 and he hauled it to my house and when used out he is to have the barrel.

    Cold, roads rough. Met Nelson and PRESTON at South Bloomfield on their way from Deleware. Received of Nelson from Dr. JONES for Dr. DAVIS the Mrs. WOODROW note and the $6000.00 bonds 5/20 statement of deposit on Franklin branch bank of Columbus.

    Morning and day cold. Went to MAGEES and got of him one yoak cattle wt. 2478 lbs at $3.65 per cwt gross making $90.44. Wrote Dr. DAVIS and sent him a copy of the bond book statement of deposit $6000.00 5/20 bonds. Esq. LANE here for all night.

    Morning frosty and cold, ground hard frozen. Cloudy and appearance of fallen weather.

    Settled with SCOTT, blacksmith, and paid him 6 cts. DAVIS and self counted 82 shocks of the soft corn sold BUSSEY and SNELLING at 60 cts per shock. Davis and I agreed that his stock destroyed 42 shocks, about, of the soft corn at $20.00. Bought of G. NEFF, Geo. Neff's straw on the BESEY place for $20.00. Commenced to rain this afternoon.

    Very unpleasant, raining some this morning and all day. At Darbyville and at John MCKINLY's Self, wife, Josie, Libbie, and Anna all at home. Nelson at A. L. PERRILL's, Albert at Bridgeport, Alabama acting as hospital Steward to 90th Reg.
